É no mínimo intrigante como Deus, o Todo-Poderoso Senhor do universo, fica à espera de oração para agir, sendo um sistema que ele mesmo idealizou e do qual passou a ser refém, ao autolimitar-se.
Esse mistério precisa ser visto do ponto de vista divino, que considera a oração não como uma maneira de convencer Deus a fazer determinadas coisas, mas antes uma oportunidade de treinamento da igreja que irá governar o universo.
Através dessa associação, a igreja passa a aprender desde já como exercer o governo e aplicar as leis do reino de Deus, familiarizando-se com as armas, estratégias e recursos que são opostos aos deste mundo.
Através da oração, Deus quer transferir para a igreja a maneira de lutar e vencer juntos, utilizando-se do amor, do perdão e dos demais atributos, inerentes à Sua pessoa.

Isso exemplifica o método de Deus operar através das orações e da fé de Seu povo. É como uma caixa de segurança na caixa-forte de um banco. O guarda tem uma chave e você tem a outra. O céu tem a chave mediante a qual se tomam as decisões que governam os assuntos terrenos, mas nós temos a chave mediante a qual essas decisões se realizam.
Portanto, oração não é vencer a relutância de Deus; não é persuadi-Lo a fazer algo que Ele não está disposto a fazer.
Orar é “ligar na terra” aquilo que já foi ligado no céu (Mt 16:19) . É realizar a decisão divina; é fazer cumprir na terra a vontade de Deus.
